Persuasive skill

A vacation bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justices B.R.Gavai and Hima Kohli had reportedly observed on May 31 that unlike a similar bench at  High Courts, it has no administrative powers of the Chief Justice of India to list and allot cases, and therefore, it cannot on its own, without the Registry allotting to it, hear a petition challenging excavation work initiated by the Odisha government at the Jagannath Puri temple.  Earlier today, the same bench advised another litigant mentioning urgent listing of another matter, to use her persuasive skills before the Registry for the purpose – Editor.

UNLESS the Registry’s
Help is enlisted
Your urgent case may
Never get listed

And if you are in
Desperate need
You must be ready
To pay for speed

Thus the real skill
Required of late
Is to manage
To get an early date

Even a judge
Cannot judge
If the registry clerk
Does not budge

It’s high time you know
That this is the drill:
Manage the registry
With persuasive skill

Otherwise the persons
To have the last laugh
Will be the unsatisfied
Crucial registry staff!
