Those who are applauding
This tit for tat JCB justice
Seem to have given
Our Constitution a miss
Looks like they’ve forgotten
Words prescient and kind
“An eye for an eye will
Make the whole world blind”
Those who electorally conquered
What they came and saw
Need to be urgently reminded
That there is a rule of law
When they were out of power
They nurtured every grouse
Now with an absolute majority
They can demolish any house
If what they want is not done
And their desires not sated
The “wrong” will be avenged
And the “culprit” targetted
Those who are now clapping
Because someone else suffers
Have forgotten the idea of India
And can be classified as duffers
A day may soon come when
Some judge will grant a stay
Which the big boss will ignore
And continue to have his way
If unchecked high-handedness
Finds widespread support
I would not at all be surprised
If a JCB demolishes a court
