Fireworks

Milords passed an Order
To curb fireworks and smoke
But no one took it seriously
They thought it was a joke!

Some felt it was our tradition
That was being harmed
Others pointed better issues
For milords to be alarmed

If a few disobey orders
Cops are swift into action
But when lakhs disregard
They are scared of reaction

The media loves to highlight
Failure of the rule of law
Images relay for posterity
The impunity reporters saw

Which brings me to the question
Which troubles me every day:
“Why do courts pass orders
Which no one seems to obey?”
