The Central Government Monday appointed f Dr. P. D. Vaghela as chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for a period of three years.
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) which comprises the Prime Minister and the Home Minister approved Vaghela’s name for heading the TRAI.
Vaghela, an IAS officer of the 1986 batch from Gujarat cadre is presently serving as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals. He did B.Com from Gujarat University Ahmedabad.
Earlier he served as Chief Commissioner, Tax Department in Gujarat.
