Four High Courts to get new Chief Justices after Collegium’s recommendations

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE Supreme Court Collegium comprising the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi and Justices S A Bobde and N V Ramana, in its meeting held on May 10, 2019,  has made the following recommendations with respect to the appointments of Chief Justices in four high courts:

1) Justice A A Kureshi as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.

2) Justice D N Patel as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.

3) Justice R S Chauhan as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.

4) Justice V Ramasubhramanian as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Justice A.A. Kureshi is the senior-most judge from the Gujarat High Court and is at present functioning, on transfer, in the Bombay High Court.

Justice D.N. Patel is a senior puisne judge from the Gujarat High Court and is at present functioning, on transfer, in the Jharkhand High Court.

Justice R.S. Chauhan is the senior-most judge from the Rajasthan High Court and is currently functioning in the Telangana High Court as acting Chief Justice

Justice V. Ramasubramanian is the senior-most judge from the Madras High Court and is presently functioning, on transfer, in the Telangana High Court.
