Humour

The gods in question

Raju Z Moray

MAN cannot afford
To displease the Gods
It is they who often help
Against stacked up odds

When fortunes stumble
At the voters mercy
The Gods have helped
To sustain controversy

All that it takes for
Some non-issue to ooze
Is for someone to say
Some god is fond of booze

And with that politicians
Are freed from built-up stress
As the "offensive" remark
Helps to revive their business

Some can block a road
Some may torch some cars
Civilised learned friends
Will resort to lodging FIRs

The Gods in question however
Are always merciful and kind
Hence the stupidities of mankind
They've never seemed to mind
