Two PMO bureaucrats get charge of Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises respectively; Health Secretary Preeti Sudan gets 3 months extension

THE Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister today made bureaucratic reshuffling along with the appointment of new Secretaries in various key departments of the Central Government.

Tarun Bajaj who is presently the Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister has been appointed as the Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs. He is an IAS of 1988 batch from Haryana cadre. He would take charge upon the superannuation of the present incumbent Atanu Chakraborty on April 30.

Another Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Arvind Kumar Sharma has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He is an IAS of 1988 batch from Gujarat cadre.

Anita Karwal (IAS) who is presently the chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy in the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. She is an IAS of 1988 batch from Gujarat cadre.

Ravi Mittal (IAS) who is currently the Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been shifted to the Department of Sports in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Mittal is an IAS of 1985 batch from Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare has been given additional charge of the Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Khare is an IAS of 1985 batch from Jharkhand cadre.

Rajesh Bhushan who is presently the Secretary in the Department of Rural Development has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare. He is an IAS of 1987 batch from Bihar cadre. Bhushan would replace present Health Secretary Preeti Sudan (1983 batch IAS from Andhra Pradesh cadre) who got an extension in her services by three months beyond her superannuation on April 30.

Praveen Kumar Srivastava, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, appointed as Special Secretary in the same ministry. He is an IAS of 1988 batch from Assam Meghalaya cadre
