Re-imagining our queer futures four years after Navtej Singh Johar

The decision in Navtej Singh Johar has indeed fostered a public culture of rights and greater inclusion in India, but it has also been accompanied by a culture of homo-nationalism and militarisation of the State. But all is not lost. There is increased queer visibility, there are far more queer persons in open than ever before, and mobilisation by the queer community is gaining public attention.
