Law & Disorder: Episode 4

This week’s episode is flooded by rain metaphors; there are barsati mendaks galore in Mumbai, croaking a different tune every time they see the ED or the CBI; there is the Delhi police, imposing Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code against the assembled downpour; there is a Supreme Court neck-deep in pending cases, contemplating asking the inundation to approach the high court first; and then there is the Prime Minister, who has helpfully gone all the way to Paris so that he can have a bird’s-eye view of the deluge.
