The birds are happy
To see one more statue
Added to the many
They do not know
Who the great man is
But he offers them rest
After inauguration
The guests have left
And it's just the birds
They sit on his head
Sing into his ears
He does not object
Humans visit him
On anniversaries
Give talks and go away
Bespectacled he stands
Holding a fat book
Pointing to some place
A bird perches on his finger
Another taps his book
He stands alone, unmoved
When it rains sometimes
He gets a welcome bath
Looks shiny and happy
Every day he waits patiently
With several litigants
In the courtyard of justice
Other statues nearby
Are also waiting
One is even meditating..
