THEY can keep the pot on boil
They can burn the midnight oil
If milords take it to their heart
Any political move they can foil
Politicians go, politicians come
But judges beat Justice’s drum
Thus anything politicians do
Is subject to Supreme outcome
Observe how the unelected
Control the fate of the elected
And realise why it takes so long
For Milords to get selected
Never mind the rulers graph
Never mind their fawning staff
In our Constitutional scheme
Milords enjoy the last laugh
That is why we must all ensure
Streams of justice are kept pure
And cases are decided on merits
Not on the basis of some allure
We cannot decide who’s appointed
The procedure is opaque, disjointed
What can we do with many rulings
Except be collectively disappointed?
