THE Delhi High Court on Friday rejected a suit filed by Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla against the rollout of 5G technology in India..Justice JR Midha ruled that the plaint filed by Chawla was defective, not maintainable and was an abuse of the process of the law for which he also imposed costs of Rs. 20 lakh on the Bollywood actor and other plaintiffs..Justice Midha added the suit was full of vexatious averments and failed to comply with the Rules of the Civil Procedure Code (CPC) to maintain the suit. He described it as a publicity stunt and pointed to the fact that the plaintiff had shared a hearing link on her social media account..The high court also issued contempt notice to the "unknown miscreants" supposedly Chawla fans, who sang songs during the hearing when the matter was being heard. It asked the Delhi Police to identify the persons and serve the notice on them.."It appears that the plaintiffs have filed this suit to gain publicity which is clear from the fact that plaintiff No.1 circulated the video conferencing link of this Court on her social media accounts, which resulted in the repeated disruption of the Court proceedings", the Court said..Click here to read the order
