Within one year of grand show
Of being hailed, remembered
The statue of our hero
Lies fallen, dismembered
A huge amount was spent
The contractors highly rated
Then how come within a year
Limbs of the statue lie amputated?
Was there enough due diligence?
Was the sculptor of some renown?
Or was the main qualification
That he was from CM’s town?
Now all are pointing fingers
None are accepting blame
To anyone with common sense
Every excuse seems lame
Now everyone will clam up
Everything will be hush-hush
Because to please Big Boss
Corners were cut, all was rush-rush
Someone will be black listed
For a while they may shun
Reinstatement always happens
For those giving hefty commission
Media is full of outrage
Opposition is having fun
Retired milords shall hope
There’s an inquiry commission.
