Just a few weeks to go
And I will be free of tension
Say bye-bye to black gowns
And live in peace on pension
I may of course accept
Assignments from the State
And if they don't materialise
Like others I too can arbitrate
I have always been obedient
Never made a mark or dent
Even when I knew it was wrong
I never questioned a precedent
Doing what was expected
I always tried to please
On any Bench constituted
I could be fitted with ease
My farewell will be warm
An event houseful and hearty
Some retired brethren suggest
I should join the ruling party
