IN whichever way it is used
To criticise, eulogise or greet
One cannot underestimate
The packed power in a tweet
Any contoversial wisecrack
Can potentially land one in jail
And if Powers are offended
It’s a struggle even getting bail
Even our seasoned activists
Veterans of many a fight
Are merely ranting in private
Can’t publish what they write!
But let’s not forget those
Who still openly boot-polish
Hoping recipients of praise
Will grant them their wish
Some may call them sycophants
Many of them are unknown faces
But please don’t be surprised when
They get selected for high places!
