A Wedding Party

The important question is not
'Were you there that night?'
But were you privileged enough
To at least get that invite!

'Money makes the mare go'
But also leaders and kings
Stars from every walk of life,
Overlords and their underlings.

Conceptualise 'Heaven on Earth'
A carnival far grander than Rio
Roads closed, Time stood still
As everyone converged on Jio!

The remembered and forgotten
Guests indigenous and foreign
Some still wielding some power
Others of extinguished reign

Across the political spectrum
Leaders in spirits hale and hearty
Agreed that they would readily join
Any party which is like this party!

Looks like milords stayed home
They may have missed a chance
Their positions kept them away
Else they too love to dance!
