THE Prime Minister's Office Tuesday announced the cancellation of CBSE XII exams for this year. The decision followed a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.."Decision on Class 12 CBSE Exams has been taken in the interest of students", PM Modi said, adding that the health and safety of students was of utmost importance and that there would be no compromise on this aspect.."In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class XII Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of class XII students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner", the PMO statement said..Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who has been demanding that the exams be cancelled, took to Twitter to express his happiness over the decision. It is a big relief, he said..The Supreme Court had also asked the Centre to place before it the government's in-principle decision on the CBSE XII board exams.
