Supreme Court hit by swine flu; 6 judges indisposed

[dropcap]J[/dropcap]USTICE D Y Chandrachud today informed lawyers gathered in his courtroom that of the 33 judges of the Supreme Court, 6 are infected with the H1N1 virus also commonly known as Swine Flu.

Justice Chandrachud added judges had a meeting with the Chief Justice of India S A Bobde regarding the situation and on precautionary and remedial measures.

“It was decided that the court will make the vaccine available for inoculation of lawyers”, added Justice Chandrachud.

Today, Justice Sanjiv Khanna came to the court wearing a mask.

Earlier, the sitting of a nine-judge Constitution bench that was supposed to commence day-to-day hearings from February 17, 2020, to decide seven questions of law in the Sabarimala case, had to be cancelled.
