SC collegium recommends names of advocates and judicial officers for judgeships in Allahabad, Gujarat and Kerala HCs

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on August 14 has recommended names of advocates and judicial officers for their appointment as judges in the Allahabad High Court, Kerala High Court and the Gujarat High Court.

The Collegium recommended the names of four judicial officers – Sanjay Kumar Pachori, Subhash Chandra Sharma, Subhash Chand, and Saroj Yadav for their elevation as judges of the Allahabad High Court.

For the Gujarat High Court, the Collegium recommended the names of three advocates namely Vaibhavi Devang Nanavati, Nirzarkumar Sushilkumar Desai and Nikhil Shreedharan Kariel for their appointment as judges.

In so far as the High Court of Kerala is concerned, the Collegium recommended the names of two advocates- Murali Purushothaman and Ziyad Rahman along with the names of two judicial officers Karunakaran Babu and (Dr.) Kauser Edappagath for appointments as judges.

For the appointment of High Court judges, the Collegium comprises the Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, Justices N V Ramana and Arun Mishra – the first two senior-most judges.
