On the street belongs
A comic show crowd
For laughter throngs
In an AC auditorium
Comedians have uses
They can poke fun
Or even hurl abuses
Audiences forgive
Anyone who amuses
Out on social media
People get offended
Reputations once torn
Are not easily mended
Complaints get filed
Accused are defended
Jokes are momentary
We laugh and forget
Stand-ups target many
In no position to object
At times some jokes
Anger the powerful elect
Even those who laugh
Can't escape suffering
What relief from woes
Can a humorist bring?
Ridiculing evil is good
But doesn't rid evil thing
