PRESIDENT Ram Nath Kovind Wednesday appointed Kiren Rijiju as the new Union Minister of Law and Justice. He was promoted to a cabinet minister rank from being Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Rijiju also served as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs in the first term of the BJP-led government.
He is a graduate of Hansraj College, University of Delhi and also has a graduate degree in law from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
Satya Pal Singh Baghel, the BJP MP from Agra, has been appointed as Minister of State (MoS) in the Law Ministry.
