Dr. Alok Bajpai is an independent research scholar who has been doing researches on Mahatma Gandhi and Indian National Movement for over two decades. He was awarded Ph.D. in History under the title, 'A Holistic View of Mahatma Gandhi's Politics in Theoretical Realms'. He is a prominent member of Bipan Chandra school in Modern Indian History. Some of the themes of his research papers include Satyagraha, Gandhian Non-Violence, Gandhi & Untouchability, Nehru as Gandhi’s Political heir, Gandhi & Congress and Colonial Science and Technology. He has been a Fellow at Nehru Memorial Museum & Library, Teen Murti House, New Delhi in the year 2009-2011. His research papers and articles have been published in various journals, newspapers and magazines and in edited books. He was awarded Prof. P. S. Gupta Memorial Prize and J. C. Jha Prize in Indian History Congress 2011.
