The amount was amicably decided upon after deliberation between government officials and judges. In this context, the witty poet wonders if the next allowance should facilitate the litigant's right to be heard.

Of the counsel who argue
Decisions are often based
On Milords points of view

The State has conceded
Milords their right to see
And 50k to buy spectacles
For themselves and family

As litigants would prefer
A proper hearing instead
The State may next consider
An allowance for hearing aid…
