THE Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana has sent a letter enclosing a signed copy of the Constitution to a fifth standard student from Kerala who had sent him a handwritten missive hailing the Supreme Court's intervention in the management of the Covid19 pandemic. The student had also enclosed a colour drawing where the judge is seen smashing the coronavirus with a gavel. The Tricolour, Lion Capital and a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi complete the art work..Lidwina Joseph, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur wrote to the CJI stating that she had read in the newspaper that the court had intervened effectively in the sufferings and death of ordinary people in the fight against Covid19.."I am happy and feel proud your honourable court has moved orders for (the) supply of oxygen and saved many lives. I understood your honourable court has initiated effective steps in bringing down Covid19 and the death rate in our country, especially in Delhi. I thank you your Honour for this. Now I feel very proud and happy..", Joseph wrote..CJI Ramana in response described the letter as beautiful and in his written note to her, said, "I am impressed with the way you kept track of happenings in the country and the concern that you have displayed for the well-being of people in the wake of the pandemic.
