CJI appoints Justice Bobde to look into allegations of sexual harassment against him

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] three-member committee of Justices S A Bobde, N V Ramana and Indira Banerjee has been appointed to inquire into allegations of sexual harassment against the Chief Justice of India (CJI), Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

 

Justice S A Bodbe was appointed by the Chief Justice of India himself to look into the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by a former Supreme Court employee. Justice Bobde has now decided to induct two other Supreme Court judges into the committee.

 

“I have decided to have Justice Ramana in the panel as he is next to me in seniority and Justice Banerjee as she is a woman judge”, Justice Bodbe said

 

Justice Bobde is next to the CJI in seniority and is in line to be the next Chief Justice.
