Gursimran is a lawyer and writer. She writes frequently on the rights of LGBTQI refugees, prisoners and other minority communities. She has written for The Wire, Refugee Law Initiative, Border Criminologies (University of Oxford) and Cambridge University Human Rights Law Society.

She has a B.A LLB (Hons) degree from the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi.
