The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore has decided to hold its own National Law Aptitude Test, 2020 (NLAT) for admissions to its undergraduate B.A., LL.B. (Hons) and postgraduate LL.M programmes commencing in 2020.
It says it will not accept the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 scores for admission to Academic Year 2020-21.
NLSIU said the repeated postponement of the CLAT examination haD resulted in uncertainty among students, parents, and the participating Universities. It added that it was uniquely disadvantaged as it followed a trimester system where every academic year was made up of three terms of 90 days duration.
“If NLSIU is unable to complete admissions before the end of September 2020 it will inevitably result in a ‘Zero Year’ with no admissions. This will deprive law students of the opportunity to pursue their studies this year at India’s premier law university”, the NLSIU said.
The Bangalore-based law university will open its Online Application portal on 3rd September 2020 and will close it at midnight on 10th September 2020.
