Centre notifies the appointment of seven high court chief justices

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE Central Government on Thursday notified the appointments of the chief justices to the high courts of  Andhra Pradesh, Gauhati, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab & Haryana, Rajasthan and  Sikkim.

 

 

Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice J K Maheshwari has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Judge of the Allahabad High Court Justice Ajai Lamba has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.

Judge of the Karnataka High Court, Justice L. Narayana Swamy has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Judge of the Madras High Court, Justice S. Manikumar has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court,  Justice Ravi Shankar Jha has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Judge of the Bombay High Court, Justice Indrajit Mohanty has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.

Judge of the Gauhati High Court,  Justice Arup K Goswami has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court.

Apart from the above appointments, the Centre has also notified transfer of the following judges:

Madhya Pradesh High Court judge,  Justice Vivek Agarwal has been sent to the Allahabad High Court. Telangana High Court judge Justice P V Sanjay Kumar will head to the  Punjab & Haryana High Court, while Justice Biswanath Somadder of the Calcutta High Court has been transferred to the Allahabad High Court.
