Allahabad HC asks UP Govt to check viability of vaccinating all, examine viability of imposing night curfew

THE Allahabad High Court Tuesday asked the state government to check the viability of vaccination for one and all and not just those above the age of 45 years.

A bench led by Chief Justice Govind Mathur said the government would also check the viability of inoculating such students who are to appear in the Uttar Pradesh High School and Intermediate Examinations.

It added that a door to door vaccination programme should be chalked out and the government should examine the viability of imposing night curfew to check late evening social gatherings.

Besides, the bench asked the district administration including police authorities to ensure 100 per cent wearing of masks in every district of the State of Uttar Pradesh.

It said the government should ensure that the Panchayat Raj Elections are conducted in such a manner that no congregation of people takes place. Be it nomination, or canvassing or actual voting, it should be ensured that all COVID-19 protocols are followed.

The directions were passed by the court in a suo motu case registered by it last year.
