“A violation of the principles of natural justice” says the SCBA in a resolution on the April 20 Supreme Court hearing

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE Executive Committee (EC) of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) today passed a resolution saying that the procedure adopted by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi  in conducting a hearing on April 20, 2019 in the matter relating to allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by an ex-employee of the Supreme Court, was in violation of the procedure established by law as well as the principles of natural justice.

The Executive Committee of the SCBA has also resolved and requested a full court of the Supreme Court to take all such necessary steps as may be required in law in this regard.

“The EC further resolves that without prejudice to any enquiry which may be initiated, it shall collate the material and facts with regard to said allegations from Social Media, Electronic Media, Print Media and other available sources which may be considered in its next meeting”, the resolution passed by the SCBA said.
