A fact that’s well-known
But still bears repeating
Is that detection for cops
Means a sound beating
Except thugs and crooks
All are scared of this tribe
As it wields power to frame
Anyone incapable of a bribe
The media publicises stories
Of their so-called successes
And courts are most reluctant
To haul them up for excesses
Everywhere they have gone
Completely out of control
One wonders these fellows
Are on which party’s payroll?
And then we have a top cop
Putting hurdles in due process
Just to get an FIR registered
Is considered a huge success!
Even when they gloat and claim
That they have done their best
More often than not it happens
To be a case of mistaken arrest
If it wasn’t for CCTV recordings
Would they ever crack a case?
Technology has worked wonders
To save their reputation and face
If a common man thinks twice
Before entering a police station
Can we accept that all is well
With the health of our nation?
