Supreme Court Collegium reiterates Justice K M Joseph’s name for apex court, also bats for Justices Indira Banerjee and Vineet Saran

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Supreme Court Collegium comprising of the Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra and Justices Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur, Kurian, AK Sikri has reiterated name of Justice KM Joseph, Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court, to be elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court.

The Collegium resolution states that it had “carefully considered the observations made by the Law Minister in his letters” sent to the CJI in April 2018 to reconsider its recommendation for elevation, stating that “nothing adverse regarding suitability” of KM Joseph was pointed out in the aforementioned letters”.

Collegium has also recommended through a separate resolution the names of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Vineet Saran, the Chief Justices of Madras and Odisha High Courts respectively, to be elevated to the Supreme Court.

Additionally, the Collegium consisting of CJI, Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Madan B Lokur has recommended various appointments to the post of Chief Justice in various High Courts in the country as per the given table-
