AMIDST heavy police deployment, women lawyers and activists held a protest outside the Supreme Court of India today after the Justice Bobde committee cleared Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi of sexual harassment charges levelled by a former apex court staffer.
Thirty protestors were detained by the Delhi Police at the Mandir Marg police station as Section 144 was imposed outside Supreme Court.
“We were not allowed to protest even for five minutes. First the Supreme Court allows a farce process and then can’t even accept any criticism. Rule of law died thousand deaths,” lawyer Amritananda Chakravorty tweeted.

The protestor who gathered outside the Gate No C of the Supreme Court demanded due process to be followed in the enquiry.
