Allahabad High Court designates 75 lawyers as “Senior Advocates”

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE Allahabad High Court has conferred senior designations to 75 lawyers from among 100 applications.

This is the first time that the senior designations have been made according to the newly amended “The Designation of Senior Advocate Rules, 2018” of the Allahabad High Court as notified on April 18, 2018.

The rules were amended as the per the guidelines of the Supreme Court in Indira Jaising v Supreme Court of India through Secretary-General and Ors. [(2017) 9 SCC 766]. 

The last time the court had conferred the “senior advocate” designation was in May 2015.
